  • I'd have to give the nod to Friedel over Keller, mainly on back of his 2002 World Cup performance where he stopped 2 PKs. Plus, Friedel has started at bigger clubs than Keller.

  • Keller was a longer term good keeper for the national team than Friedel. However both were so good you could not lose either way!
  • No way.... Nothing against Friedel, but, Keller was the much better keeper. When you put a 6'4 guy with that kind of athleticism in the goal, it's an amazing thing. I followed Keller since his University of Portland days, and his ability always amazed me... His achievements in Europe and the US National teams' victory over Brazil (in the Gold Cup) deserve a great deal of respect.

Friedel and Howard are very good keepers. Keller was the most dominant for the longest period of time in a very competitive league.
