  • I cannot disagree with this assessment. I think MLS is probably worse on the eye from a pure play standpoint than early on in its existence although the conformity with FIFA rules now and the uniforms looking more football like has helped, but the quality itself isn't good.

    Garber, SUM and Superliga are to blame IMHO.

    MLS is awash with cash due to Superliga and the FMF deal but the squad limit of 18 and salary cap being so low has made MLS completely uncompetitive in these sort of events. Recall the DC team you reference was flying high until the salary cap claimed them victim. The whole league structure needs to change.
  • MLS has expanded too fast. I think we have better overall talent than a few years ago but four more teams and like six on the way is too much when the talent isn't that deep yet.
  • Cannot argue with anything in this piece other than perhaps the title.
